Glimmer
Although it has been repeated through the ages, I think we do not appreciate the creative power of our thought. We pay lip service and go about our business until something reminds us and we momentarily remember, “Oh, right. Yeah, I gotta get that going.” And then go about our business.

I have recently paid close attention to my mind’s conjuring of thought. Just a few nights ago, I found myself becoming upset, which led easily to the crafting of a mental narrative:
“I’m upset because that person thinks this about me, which injures my reputation so others also think poorly of me, causing me to fail!”

“World Peace is Sooner Than You Think.”

But wait! That’s all my story. I completely made it up!

I don’t really know that the person thinks something about me, and I don’t really see how that causes anyone else to think poorly about me anyways. What am I saying?!

We are easily triggered, are we not? I know I too easily am. But why should we elevate the negative by giving it so much attention? It is just as easy to think of something positive, to address what we are grappling with in a positive manner.

Instead of succumbing to triggers, reach for glimmers.
Instead of, “I am afraid the medical test will show worsening,” how about “I am looking forward to seeing how much healing I have undergone.”
Instead of, “I don’t think I will have enough time to learn the new system,” how about “I have accomplished difficult things before. There is limited time, but once I clear some of the more prominent hurdles, the rest will fall into place quickly.”

We are divine creatures. There is far more of indestructible, eternal essence to us than physical matter. That which we imagine…that which we think…It is that which our lives become.
